Obituary of Muriel Leone Smith

91, formerly of Sambro Head, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 23, 2011, surrounded by her family, in Arborstone Enhanced Care. Born and raised in West Pennant, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Lucy (Gray) Kirk. Muriel was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She will lovingly be remembered and never forgotten by son, Frankie (Beth), Dartmouth; daughters, Phyllis (Murray) Gray, Sambro Head; Vivian (Skip) Horton, Williamswood; Marilyn (Gil) Pasley, Halifax; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Francis; 2 great grandchildren; brothers, Aubrey, George and Reginald; sister, Marjorie. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26 from 1-2 PM followed by a service of remembrance at 2 PM from the funeral home chapel. Private family interment to follow in St. James United Cemetery, Sambro.
