Obituary of Charles Daniel Charlie Demone

82, Halifax, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday September 29, 2011. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Frank and Gertrude (White) Demone. He had retired from DND after many years. Charlie loved to dance and enjoyed many senior dances with Shirley at the Spryfield Legion. He has many wonderful fun years at the family cottage in Bayswater and during those years his most favorite thing was horseshoes. He won many championship trophies, being one of the toughest to beat. They had made many a lifelong friends in Bayswater. Charlie had a deep love for his family, he worked hard and was very proud of what he had accomplished. His six grandchildren were his pride and joy. He treasured every moment with them. He also had the good fortune to have travelled with his wife to many wonderful places. Charlie is survived by wife Shirley (Maltus); son; Robert, Halifax; daughter; Cathy Publicover (Edward), Hubley; brother; Frank (Shirley), Halifax; sister; Catherine Kent, Halifax; bother and sister in law; Joe and Hilda (Maltus) Shea; son in law Tyrill Publicover; six precious grandchildren Jeffrey, Lisa-Jane, Tyler, Bradley, Alisha and Julia and much loved family friend Pam (Turpin) Demone. He was predeceased by much beloved daughter; Deborah Publicover; brother; Billy; sister; Dorothy Barrett Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd. Halifax, where visitation will be held from Monday October 3 from 11 a.m. 1 p.m., with funeral service to follow in funeral home chapel at 1 p.m. with Rev, Dianna Frye officiating, reception to follow.
