Obituary of Baden Ramsey Roome
35 - Halifax, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at home in the company of his family after being diagnosed with a brain tumor in August. Born in Halifax on February 6, 1976, he was the son of Velda (Hamm) and the late Ramsay Roome. He grew up in Timberlea and during his childhood he was involved in the Scouting movement, being a Beaver, Cub and Scout with his dadâs assistance. He had attended Sir John A. High School. Having been a survivor of childhood Leukemia for over 30 years, he faced many challenges with his own sense of humor. He took an interest in different things, one being carpentry, where he attempted a correspondence course. He enjoyed working with power tools. Besides his mother, he is survived by an aunt, Glenda (Don Finkel); cousins, Judith, Stephen, Richard and Steven and friend Terri Joan. He was predeceased by grandparents Harry and Amelia Roome and A. Russ and Mamie Hamm; aunt Marion (Roome) Kimber; uncle, David Hamm. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. No visitation by request. A funeral service will be held Friday September 23 at 2 p.m. from the Trinity Anglican Church Main Ave. Rev. Bill Sheppard officiating. Interment at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of ones choice. A special thank you to Northwood Adult Day Program, to the doctors , nurses and recreational staff on 7.3 of the Halifax Infirmary, Palliative Care (Glenna) and the VON for their support.
