Obituary of Anderson Sandy Keddy

Keddy, Anderson “Sandy”- 93, Halifax, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2011 at the Northwood Nursing Home. Born in Yarmouth, he was the son of the late James and Hattie (Smith) Keddy. Sandy spent many years working in Canada Customs and at the time of his retirement he was the Inspector of the Port of Yarmouth. He had many interests and hobbies including golfing, fishing, traveling, curling, gardening and storytelling. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family having been predeceased by brother, Matthew and sister, Grace. Sandy is survived by his wife Genevieve (Carter) Keddy, daughter, Barbara (Milton Chew), Halifax, and Nancy (Lou Lesser), Yarmouth, five grandsons, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., Halifax, NS. There will be a memorial service and interment in Chebogue Cemetery in Yarmouth at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
