Obituary of Keith Stewart Doc Gray
78, Sambro, passed away peacefully with his loving wife of 57 years by his side on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the QEII Halifax Infirmary. Born in Sambro, he was a son of the late Austin and Gertrude (Findlay) Gray.
Keith was a retired fisherman having been on the water from the age of 13. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors camping with his family and friends. âDocâ was well known among friends and throughout the community for hi âuniqueâ sense of humor, which remained with him until the very end.
He will be forever missed by wife, Margaret âNanny Margâ; daughters, Glenda (Ian), Vicki (John), Shelly (Brent); son, Blaine (Kevin) ; grandchildren, John, Roy, Andrew, Lisa, Greg, Krista, Brad, Brittany, Chad and Meghan; great-grandchildren, Skyler, Grayson, Brittany, Lauren, Jason, Chasity and Rylee. He is survived by sister, Nancy Marryatt (Hughie); sister in-law, Carol Gray; several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by nephew and lifetime neighbors Victor, Kim, Bobby and Mark. He was predeceased by his brother, Granville.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601). Respecting his wishes, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 19 at 3 PM in St. James United Church Cemetery, Sambro, Rev. Keltie van Binsbergen officiating accompanied by a Prayer from The Salvation Army. ALL WELCOME! A reception will follow at the St. James United Church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
