Obituary of Viola Victoria Arsenault

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Viola Arsenault on April 5, 2011 at the age of 100 at Laurier Manor, Gloucester, Ontario. Born in Grand Etang, Cape Breton, NS, she was a daughter of the late John and Louise (Cormier) Doucet. Viola was a beloved wife, devoted mother and loving grandmother. She was well known in the Herring Cove/ Armdale area, and she touched many lives with her kindness and memories of her love will be cherished. Many people will remember her for her beautiful ability to create dresses for entire wedding parties and for being a seamstress. For many years, she was a diligent election worker, and also worked part-time at “Bedley’s General Store” on Herring Cove Road. She is survived by one son, Clarence (Caroll), Middle Sackville, one daughter, Theresa Earl, Ottawa, ON, brother, Lomer, Cheticamp, sister, Rose Boudreau, Sydney, NS, grandchildren, Catherine, Carrie, Michael, Lorrie, and Heather, great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jamie, Sarah, Racheal, and Bradley, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph, brothers, George, Joseph, Hector, and Willy, sisters, Catherine and Sophie, two infant sisters, and a grandson, Chris Arsenault. Resting at JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS, (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 from 1-2 pm. Funeral Service will follow visitation at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Burial will take place in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville, NS.
