Obituary of K. Ruth Redden

Redden, K. Ruth- 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at the QE II, Abby J. Lane Hospital, with her loving family by her side. Born in Sidney, British Columbia she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Henrietta (Dunne) Lidgate, she is the last surviving member of her immediate family. Ruth was a founding member of the WRCN/ RNCA Peregrine, she loved shopping, knitting, and playing rummoli with the girls.  Ruth was a little girl who followed her sailor to the East Coast. , Ruth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother,she is survived by husband of 56 years, the love of her life, Ralston; sons, Michael (Beth), Simcoe, Ontario; Tim, Halifax, NS; Jeffrey (Janet), Penticton, BC, daughter, Vicki (Steven), Halifax, grandchildren, Leslie, Scott, Mark, Brandon, Cassie and Alex. She was predeceased by son, Frederick in infancy;   and brother and sisters. Arrangements are under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Thursday from 6-8 PM. Funeral service will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 at 11 AM from Emmanuel Anglican Church. Interment to be held at a later date. Family flowers only, in lieu of flowers, donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or The Arthritis Society on Nova Scotia.
