Obituary of Carman James Jamieson

born July 14, 1932 passed away suddenly with his family by his side on February 7, 2012.  Born in Queensport, Guysborough County, NS, he was the son of Mary Jane (nee Fitzgerald) Jamieson, Halifax, and the late George Clifford Jamieson. He moved to Halifax in his early twenties where he began he career as an electrician.  He was employed at Arthur & Conn Ltd for 35 years and then moved on to work for the Department of National Defence at HMC Dockyard before retiring in 1997.  A devoted husband and loving father, he was extremely proud of his family. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.  In his younger years, his passion was singing and playing his guitar, with close friends and family around.  He also enjoyed a good game of cards and was an avid crib player.  He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Marguerite (nee Jessome) Jamieson, and his children Bruce (Joanne), Brenda Jamieson, Mark (Nancy), and Heather Jamieson, as well as his eight grandchildren: Hal, Colleen, Kyle, Andrew, Bethany, Liam, Hannah and Paige.  He survived by siblings, Sherman, Clint (Donna), Patsy Imlay (Robert), Linda Jamieson and Susan Jamieson.  He was predeceased by a brother, Charles Clifford and an infant sister. Arrangements are under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd. (477-5601), where visitation will be held Friday February 10, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. Funeral mass will be held Saturday February 11, 10a.m. from The St. John The Baptist Church Purcell’s Cove Rd. Donations in memory may be made to the Nova Scotia Lung Association.
