Obituary of Catherine Jean Brophy

73, Lower Prospect, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2012 at the V.G. Site, QEII. Born in Lower Prospect, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Agnes (Huelin) Blackburn. Jean is survived by her loving husband William "Bill"; Cindy Slaunwhite (Victor), Paula Brophy (Shane); brother, Cecil Blackburn (Margaret "Babe"); sister, Lena Ryan all of Lower Prospect; grandson Chad (Holly), several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by brothers Sherman, Leo, sister Frances and a sister in infancy. Arrangements are under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. No visitation by request. A funeral service will take place Saturday April 21 at 11 a.m. from The Star Of The Sea Roman Catholic Church Terance Bay with interment to follow in the parish cemetery, followed by a reception at the Terance Bay Fire Hall. Family flowers only, donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
