Obituary of Cecilia Mary "Cindy" MacDonald
62, Halifax, passed away peacefully at home on Friday April 20, 2012. She was a daughter of the late Cecil and Mary Ann (Pike) Clarke. Cecilia recently retired from Dalhousie University, where she had worked for over 40 years, primarily as an administrative assistant for the School of Public Administration. Cecilia was an active member of the Emmanuel Anglican Church in Spryfield, including still being part of the Mother’s Union. Her dedication to the church over the years included time spent as a lay reader, choir member, Sunday school teacher and numerous church camps. She was truly happiest when involved with activities within the church community. Cecilia is lovingly remembered and survived by her son, Daniel Vincent MacDonald and daughter Michelle Lynn MacDonald; three grandchildren, Noah, Anna and Bekah MacDonald; sister Terry Ann Lord; brother, Alexander (Sandy) Clarke; nieces, Mary Stewart and Kimberly MacEachern. No visitation by request. Cremation has taken place under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601), Spryfield. A Holy Eucharist service of remembrance and celebration of life will take place at Emmanuel Anglican Church, 322 Herring Cove Rd., on Tuesday April 24, at 2 p.m., followed by a reception in the church hall. Interment to take place at a later date. Family flowers only by request. In lieu of flowers, monetary and food donations mat be made to the Emmanuel Anglican Church Food Bank in memory of Cecilia A special thanks to the staff on floors 7A & 8A V.G.
