Obituary of Lillian Edna Hatcher
90, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 30, 2012 in Arborstone Enhanced Care. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Mary Smith. Lillian was a member of Emmanuel Anglican Church. She will lovingly be remembered by her sons, David Hatcher (Claudine MacDonald), Port Williams; Richard (Kathy) Hatcher, Halifax; daughters, Beverley (Bob) Hardie, Mount Uniacke; Judy (Ray) Bowdridge, Beaverbank; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brother, Ron Smith, Halifax; sisters, Betty Caines, Halifax and Marion Day, Lake Charlotte. She was predeceased by her husband, Alexander Hatcher. The family would like to extend special thanks to the 2nd floor nursing home staff at Arborstone Nursing Home, Purcells Cove Road. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 2 from 6-8 PM. A service of remembrance will be held on Thursday, April 3 at 1 PM from the funeral home chapel, Rev. Diana Frye officiating, with a reception to follow the service. Interment to be held in Emmanuel Anglican Cemetery. Donations in Lillian’s memory can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
