Obituary of Bernice Breakspear
Breakspear, Bernice Ona -88, Lower Sackville, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Monday, June 18, 2012 in the Halifax Infirmary Site, QEII. Born in Argyle Head, Yarmouth Co., she was the daughter of the late Leslie and Inez (Spates) Gavel. Bernice served 4 years with the Canadian Women Army Corp overseas and in Canada during WW II. She was a dedicated church member and missionary group member in her younger years. She was an avid knitter and dedicated gardener. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family .Bernice was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten by daughters; Mildred Breakspear, Faye Breakspear, both of Halifax, Karyn (Bill) Breakspear- Purdy, Bridgetown, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, several cousins, nieces and nephews with special mention of Stevie and Warren. She was predeceased by her husband, Allison, and brother, Winston. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 30 at 2 p.m. in Oakridge Memory Gardens , Lower Sackville.
