Obituary of Eva Marie Day

79, Halifax, passed away peacefully at home on July 7, 2012, surrounded by her family. Born in Corberrie, Digby Co., she was a daughter of the late Albanie and Zitha (Melanson) Gaudet. Eva was a life long member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Fairview Branch 142, Ladies Axiliary, she loved bingo, playing cards and especially her dog ,Sophie. She is survived by her loving husband Charles, daughters; Roseann Day (Brian Avery); Edna Harrie (Bruce); Shawn Wiggington, all of Halifax, brothers; Neil, Quebec; Basil (Giselle); Peter (Jane); sister; Doris McAdam (Dave), all of Ontario, grand-daughter Bethany. Eva was predeceased by sister Rosemary. Arrangements are under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will take place from 7-9 p.m. Thursday July 12. A service of the Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion, Fairview Branch 142 will also be held at Thursday July 12, 8 p.m.. A funeral mass will be held from the St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, North St. at 1:30 p.m. Friday July 13. Followed by an interment in the Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations in memory may be made to the QEII Palliative Care or the Ladies Auxiliary of the Royal Canadian Legion, Fairview Branch 142.
