Obituary of Mary "Jean" Mayfield

86, Halifax, passed away August 8, 2012, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Douglas Spence and Winnifred (Brown) Spence-Cody. She was a life long resident of Halifax, who spent many of her retirement years in Sherbrooke, Guysborough Co. Jean is survived by son, Tim, Halifax; daughters, Carol Smith, Cole Harbour; Gayle Lovett (Douglas), Windsor; sister, Mildred Kemp, Halifax; grandchildren, Myles Smith, Sarah, Jeffery and Emma Mayfield, Joel Moore (Angie), Breanna, Ashley and Mallory Lovett, great grandchildren: Ava and Ryan Moore, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Vernon, Gerald, sister Geraldine Arthur. Arrangements are under the care of J.A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601). No visitation by request. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday August 14 at 10a.m. from St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Mumford Rd.,  followed by reception in the church hall. Interment will follow in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax. Family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Lung Association of Nova Scotia.
