Obituary of D. Anne Campbell
89, after a brief battle with cancer, passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012, with her family at her side. Born in Nottinghamshire, England, she arrived at Pier 21, as a War Bride, in 1946. After several years in Nova Scotia, the young family lived in New Brunswick and Ontario before returning to Halifax in 1969. Anne owned the successful Landscott Real Estate Limited and was known for her charitable activities, keen sense of style, and wit. Travel with family and friends took her to many parts of the world. Anne enjoyed entertaining, gardening, kitchen bridge, and a lively discussion. In her later years Anne loved visiting the Spring Garden Road library and she especially wanted to thank Vickie and the other librarians that gave her exceptional reading suggestions. She is survived by her daughter, Janet, Ottawa, son, Andrew (Nancy), Dartmouth, and grandchildren, Scott, Nicholas, and Alexa. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy, and dog, Snowball. Cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation, by request. The funeral service, followed by a reception, will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 7 PM from J. Albert Walker Funeral Home Chapel, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (902.477.5601). Special thanks to the nursing staff and doctors in the ENT and Palliative Care units of the VG Hospital.
