Obituary of Donna Marie Sullivan

75, Herring Cove, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Winnifred (Dempsey) and the late Edward Power. Donna was first and foremost a devoted mother and wife, and later in life an extremely proud grandmother and great grandmother, who loved her family, enriched their lives with wonderful home cooking and very strong values. Her love of life and laughter will be missed, as well as her quirky sense of humor. She leaves behind to grieve her loving husband Blair; sons, David, British Columbia, Bernard (Fran) and Barry (Sandi); daughter, Doris, all of Herring Cove, Pam Lively (Philip), Ajax, Ontario; brother, Darrell (Janet); sisters, Alice Power (Murray), Bobbie Pugh, all of Herring Cove, Bernice Allen, Halifax; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her furry protector Amber. She was predeceased by brother, Gary and a sibling in infancy. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601). No visitation by request. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday October 2 from St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Herring Cove, Father Frank Pellerin as celebrant. Reception to follow in the church hall. Interment to take place at a later date. Family flowers only, donations in memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia, Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke Foundation, or charity of one’s choice.
