Obituary of Leslie Vernon "Boody" Sears Sr.

79, Purcells Cove, passed away October 2, 2012 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Joshua Boutilier and the late Myrtle Barkhouse (late Cameron Barkhouse). Leslie enjoyed all sports (especially hockey), his daily swims in Williams Lake, and working on his house. He found his greatest pleasures in family BBQs and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by sons, Leslie Jr. (Karen), Halifax, Derek (Colleen), Beaver Bank; daughter, Carolyn (Bedford); their mother Marjorie "Betty"  Steeves; brother Donald Hansport; grandchildren, Michael, David, Sara, Sandra, Ashley, Carolyn, Shannon, Robyn, Joshua, Evan; great grandchildren, Emma, Bridgette and Mischa; and special friend Rosie. He was predeceased by sons, Robert, Craig; sister Maxine "Pat". Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will take place 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Saturday October 6. Funeral service to be 1 p.m. Sunday October 7 from the funeral home chapel, reception to follow. Rev. Allan Frye officiating. Interment to take place in St. Phillip’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Purcells Cove Rd. Donations in memory may be made to VETS Canada (www.vetscanada.org) or the I.W.K.
