Obituary of Helen Jean Boutilier

90, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 19, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Helen was born in Halifax on November 15, 1921 and was the second daughter of Lillian (Gallagher) and Thomas Moran. Helen enjoyed life and spent many happy years at her cottage in Lochaber, Guysborough County. She worked in the hardware department at Woolco for many years. She enjoyed Bingo and played on several bowling leagues. She took great pride in being the team statistician. Her family was very important to her and she was very proud of their varied accomplishments. She is survived by her sons, Kenneth (Colleen), Spryfield; Paul (Marilyn), Williamswood; Randy (Rose), Spryfield; grandchildren of whom she was so proud, Krista, Wade, Shane (Heidi), Sheldon (Rachel), Michael, Brian, Kevin, Kyle and Jason; step grandchildren, Suelynn, Tommy and Eric Banfield; great grandchildren, Daniel and Benjamin. She was predeceased by her husband of 36 years, Harry Robert and her eldest son, Wayne Thomas. The family would like to thank all the staff of St. Vincent’s Nursing Home for the exceptional care she received, especially those on the 5th floor who treated her so well and were like family to her. Arrangements have been entrusted to J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. No visitation by request. Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 23 at 10 AM in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, Father Frank Pellerin as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Diabetes Association.
