Obituary of Erma Catherine Armsworthy

  Armsworthy (Mitchell) Erma Catherine- 98, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 29, 2012 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, with her loving family by her side. Born in Oyster Pond, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Ada (Wournell) Mitchell. Erma loved bingo, shopping, and spending quality time with her family. Erma will be lovingly remembered, and never forgotten by son, Ken (Fay) Armsworthy, Herring Cove; daughters, Phyllis Westhaver, Fox Point; Jean Armsworthy, Halifax; and Beverly (Ken) MacDonald, Sudbury, Ont.; 15 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several great great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Spencer Armsworthy; daughter, Maureen; son-in-law, Donald; grandsons, Kenny, Brian, infants Joe and great-grandson Adam. Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Rd, Halifax, (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Sunday, December 2 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, December 3 at 2 PM at the funeral home chapel. Burial to take place in Fairview Lawn Cemetery. Family flowers only. Donations in Erma's memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia, or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
