Obituary of Robert Donald "Disco Bob" Sarty

72, Halifax, passed away December 8, 2012 in the Halifax Infirmary QEII. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Donald and Gladys (Fraser) Sarty. He worked, from the age of 19, with the Longshoreman’s Association, Local 269, until his retirement. Bob is survived by sons; Donald (Debbie), Richard (Patti), daughter; Roxanne, all of Halifax, former wife, Diana (Davis),sisters; Madeline Nowe, Halifax, Vera Sarty, Truro, Joan Baldwin, British Columbia, grandchildren; Keith, Danielle, Jacob, Bianca, step grandchild Joseph, several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by grandson Kyle. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601), 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be Wednesday, December 12 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. Funeral service on Thursday, December 13 at 11a.m. from the funeral home chapel, reception to follow. Rev. David Dellapinna officiating. Interment in St. John’s Cemetery, Halifax. Donations in memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
