Obituary of Flora Marie MacDonald

81, Halifax, passed away December 18, 2012, surrounded by her loving family, in the Victoria General Hospital, QEII. Born November 05, 1931, in Meteghan, to the late Melbourne and Evelyn (Dulong) Doucette. She was known for her positive outlook and talent for listening to anyone’s troubles without judgement and loved to travel with her sister and bravely tried riding a horse for the first time in her late 70s. She was a hard worker and her work ethic was admired by all. Flora is survived by daughter, Sandra Merry (Dennis), Halifax, son Melbourne MacDonald, Halifax, grandson John MacDonald, Dartmouth, special sister and best friend Carol Smith (nee Doucette), Sambro, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Predeceased by husband Earl James MacDonald, son George, granddaughter Crystal, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601). No visitation or service by request. Memorial donations can be made to War Amps of Canada or Canadian Cancer Society.
