Obituary of Delores Aileen "Lovie" Mason (McKay)

73, Halifax, passed away with her loving family by her side on December 24, 2012 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Mary (MacNamara) Campbell. Lovie enjoyed fishing, loved to dance and loved her grandchildren. She was very caring and was always there with a cup of tea in hand for you and would ask if there was anything you needed. She is survived by husband Cyril, and will be loving missed by children Lawrence McKay (Denise), Herring Cove, Donna Forrestall (Bobby), Halifax, Ruthie Thompson (Bill), Hammonds Plains, Patsy McKay, Timberlea; brother Murdock Campbell, Montreal Que., Myrna Scott, Sydney; 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; special friend Edna Evans and son-in-law Chris Thompson, several nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her 1st husband of 47 years, Lawrence McKay; brothers, Thomas, Daniel, Gordon, Malcolm, John, Gregory; sisters, Margie Campbell, Lizzie MacNeil, Hazel MacDonald, Anne Cooper, Alice MacDonald. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where a funeral service will be held Saturday December 29 at 9:00a.m., reception to follow. Interment following in the Gate Of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville. In lieu of flowers, donations to be made in memory to a charity of one’s choice. Special thank you to all the staff of the Halifax Infirmary for the care and compassion shown to Lovie and her family, during her stay.
