Obituary of Anna Marie "Sis" Dominix

DOMINIX, Anna Marie "Sis" - 68, Halifax. Surrounded by her loving family, on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Halifax Infirmary, QEII, Anna passed away. Born in Halifax, she was the eldest daughter of the late Andrew and Isabell (MacNeil) Munroe. Affectionately known as Sis to many, Anna was a devoted mother, sister, aunt and friend. She enjoyed her outings to Point Pleasant Park, going to bingo, playing cards and spending time with her family, especially her children, who were the center of her universe. She will be dearly missed by her children, Peter, Randall and Jennifer (Denise Robichaud); siblings, John (Barb) Munroe, Barb Munroe (Jim McDonald), Cathy Low and Joan Alexander; several nieces and nephews; former spouse, Peter Dominix (Bea Smith). She was predeceased by her brother in-law, Paul Low. Special thanks are extended to the staff of Northwood Manor, for their care and support. Arrangements are under the care and direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601). In keeping with Anna's wishes there will be no visitation. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, December 30 at 2 PM from the funeral home chapel, with a reception to follow. Private committal will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
