Obituary of George Henry "Harry" Irons

78, Halifax, passed away January 21, 2013 in the QEII V.G. Site. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late George and Emily (Wright) Irons. Harry was an avid outdoors men, nature lover and enjoyed spending time at the "Castle", his cottage in Mooseland, on the Eastern Shore. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Bernadette (Marriott); sons, George and Mark, both of Langley BC.; Tony and Stewart, both of Halifax; brothers, Robert "Bob" (Pat), Dougie, Bruce (Diane), Billy (Lucille), Keith, Gerald, all of Halifax; Greg (Evelyn), BC.; grandchildren Angela (David), Justin, Tyler, Kristopher, Sidney, Ryan, Katie; great grandchildren Ava, Tihannah, Ethan; sister-in-law, Mary Ann and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brother, Donald. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Wednesday January 23. Funeral service to take place 1 p.m. Thursday January 24 from funeral home chapel, reception to follow. Interment to take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
