Obituary of Shawn Marcel Newcombe

40, Williamswood. It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden tragic death of our beloved son, father, brother and friend, Shawn. Born and raised in Herring Cove he was the son of Lloyd and Margaret Newcombe. Shawn loved to make people laugh and have fun, he loved his children and family very much. He had a love for the outdoors and loved being with his friends; he would do anything for anyone. He also loved his dog, Dakota. Shawn was employed with various construction companies for the last 20 years as a heavy equipment operator. He will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him. He will lovingly be remembered by his son, James and daughter, Caitlin, both of Harrietsfield; long time companion and mother of his children, Helen Goldie; brother, Bernie (Joy), Herring Cove; Mark (Stephanie), Sambro; nieces, Jessica, Madison and Lindsey; nephew, Jacob; uncles, Bernie Stone, Herring Cove; Jimmy Stone, Beaverbank; Dale Newcombe, Coldstream; aunts, Gladys Newcombe and Kay Spears, both of Halifax; Verna Bojahra, BC; many cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Ray and Marguerite Newcombe; maternal grandparents, James and Catherine Stone. Arrangements are under the care and direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601). A celebration of Shawn’s life will be held on Saturday, February 2 at 11AM from the funeral home chapel, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place at a later date. Family flowers only.
