Obituary of Christa Marie "Chrissy" Pettipas

42, Terence Bay. It is with profound sadness that we the family announce the passing of our daughter, granddaughter and sister, on Friday, February 22, 2013, at home, surrounded by her family and loved ones, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Born in Terence Bay, she was the daughter of Linda Pettipas and the late Garnet Slaunwhite. Chrissy worked for the Municipality at the County Building for 5 and a half years. She was a joy to all who knew her. She loved music and everyone loved to hear her sing and play her keyboard. She will be forever missed. She is survived by her mother, Linda; brother, Curtis; grandmother, Lillian Pettipas; biological grandfather, Howard Pettipas; many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Minnie and Gordon Slaunwhite.   Special thanks are extended to Paula of the VON, the team on 8.2 of the QEII Hospital and to Dr. Crooks for their compassionate care; also, to Leona Schlay, Janice Jefferies, Judy Young and Jeanette Brophy for their support. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. In keeping with Chrissy’s wishes, there will be no visitation. A Service of Remembrance will be held on Thursday, February 28 at 1 PM in St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Terence Bay, Pastor Lisa Vaughn officiating; a reception will follow in the Terence Bay Firehall.  Interment will take place at a later date in the parish cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chrissy’s memory would be appreciated by her family or to a charity of choice.
