Obituary of Joseph Victor Jr. Pilon

86, Halifax, passed away May 2, 2013 in the Palliative Care Unit, QEII. Born June 1, 1926 in Montreal, Que., he was the eldest son of the late Joseph Victor Sr. and Veronica Grace (O’Neill) Pilon. Victor was a bricklayer by occupation and a member of The International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers since 1947. He enjoyed the beauty of nature, photography, reading, hunting, fishing and sports. He was a Montreal Canadians fan and was fortunate to play hockey with his many friends to the age of 78. Victor will be sadly missed by his brothers Walter (Audrey); Raymond (Rose); Paul; Philip (Marilyn); sister, Joyce Kelly and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by brother, Robert, sister-in-law Marie and infant sister Mary. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held Tuesday May 7 from 12-2 p.m., with a Christian service to follow at 2 p.m.,in the funeral home chapel, Father Duncan McMaster as celebrant, reception to follow. Interment will be in St. Anne’s Roman Catholic Cemetery Portuguese Cove. Donations in Victor’s memory may be made to the VONs, Red Cross or charity of one’s choice. Special thanks to LLM Homecare (Linda MacLeod), Heather and Lorraine for their many years of loving care. The Victorian Order of Nurses, the Palliative Care Unit, V.G Site, QEII for making his last days as comfortable as possible.
