Obituary of William Harold "Bill" Greencorn
71, Halifax passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at home, after a short battle with cancer. Born in Halifax he was a son of the late Hugh and Isabel (MacKenzie) Greencorn .
Bill was a retired employee of the Halifax Regional School Board. He was a member of Emmanuel Anglican Church, enjoying service every Sunday until his recent illness. Bill was a friend to many including the many stray animals he fed and cared for over the years.
He is survived by his wife, Erma (Conrad); children, Crystal, William Jr., Bradley, Anna (David) and Tammy (Michael).He leaves behind his grandchildren Angelica, Adam, Ashley, Daylin, Airedin, William and Isabelle. He leaves to mourn, his sisters, Dorothy (Henry), Ethel, Lorna (Pat), brothers, Kenneth (Natalie) and Norman (Terrie). He also leaves many nieces, nephews and other extended family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Stephen, Frank (in infancy); sisters, Audrey (Guy), Minnie (Walter); brother in law, Edgar; sister in law, Marie.
The family would like to extend thanks to both sides of the extended family and friends for their comfort and support at this difficult time. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
Arrangements are under the direction of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601), where visitation will be held on Sunday, May 26 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 27 at 1PM in Emmanuel Anglican Church, Rev. Don Shipton officiating; reception to follow in the church hall. Interment will take place in St. John’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the SPCA.
