Obituary of David Michael Kennett

KENNETT, David Michael- 69, Halifax, passed away peacefully onThursday, September 5, 2013, in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Bornin England, he was a son of the late Frederick and Vera (Lee) Kennett. David graduated from Dalhousie University with a Bachelor of Science;he worked at the Halifax Dockyard for many years as an ElectricalTechnician in Industrial Engineering until his retirement. Afterretirement he loved spending time golfing, woodworking and cycling,having participated in the MS Bike Run for many years. He was also avery active and faithful member of Bayers Road Baptist Church. He willlovingly be remembered and never forgotten by his loving wife, Joan;daughters, Dawn (Harold) and Lisa; son, Scott; Joan’s son, Bill(Karen); brother, Malcolm (Myrtle), four grandchildren, Ryan, Adam,Amaya and Aryana; Joan’s grandchildren, Shane and Jesse; nieces, Karenand Susan (Brian); grand-niece, Caitlin and grand-nephew, Jonathan. Arrangements are under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005)Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601), where visitation willbe held on Sunday, September 8 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral servicewill be Monday, September 9 at 11 AM from Bayers Road Baptist Church,with a reception to follow in the church hall. Burial will take placein St. John’s Cemetery. Donations in David’s memory may be made to theLeukemia Lymphoma Society to support Myeloid Cancer.
