Obituary of Kathleen Mary Leaman

85, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 14, 2013 in Northwood Center, surrounded by her family. Born in Terrenceville, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Bridget (Connell) Vaslet. Kathleen was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by daughters, Georgina, Judy, Joan (Lawrence) and Stella (Eugene); sons, Norman (Faye), Eddie (Lynn), Earl, Patrick and Leonard; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Ellen Mary; she was predeceased by her husband, George; son, Cyril; grandson, Joseph; granddaughter, Tammy. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, September 19 at 10:30 AM from St. Michaels Roman Catholic Church, Father Sam Batsa officiating. A reception will follow the service at J. A. Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Spryfield. Family flowers only. Donations in Kathleen’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
