Obituary of Nettie Marie Reyno
Sambro. On October 6, 2013, Nettie, at the tender age of 81 years, has been reunited with "the Boss", Gordon, and gone on ahead to be with the Lord.
While we miss her terribly, in this time of sorrow we choose to celebrate. We celebrate the legacy only "Rose" could leave; The GIANT tight knit Reyno family of sons and daughters, of grand children and great grand children, and of course the untold number of friends, friends of friends, and even strangers who were always welcome in her home with a warm meal. We celebrate the years of love, filled with unbelievably noisy Christmas Eves and of, equally noisy, delicious boiled dinners, or tongues and cheeks. We celebrate the joy of shared countless hours of watching her beloved children and grand children’s exploits on the ice at the "Sprydome". We celebrate the good-natured teasing she doled out after spanking a unwitting, hapless, opponent at the crib board, and the investment of endless afternoons teaching any number of her grandchildren how to count a double run of 6,7’s and 8’s. We celebrate the years of being secure in the knowledge that once the Leaf game was over on Saturday night Rose would be getting a bite to eat while getting ready to watch the late game – in its entirety. We celebrate that among her prized possessions were her dozens and dozens of family photos she so proudly displayed at home that captured the love she felt for us all. We celebrate the crazy celebrations we all had at the seemingly endless series of "Lucky Rose" wins at the bingo hall, and casino. We celebrate the fact that Nettie lived her life without compromise – unwavering in her decisions once they were made. And finally we celebrate the blessing of having Nettie in our lives... she was nicknamed Lucky Rose, but those of us who knew her count ourselves the lucky ones.
She is survived by sons, Frank, Gus (Barb), and Cyril (Jamie) Reyno, daughters Velvet Clarke (John), Christine Gray (Roy), Norma Scarfe (Chris), Heidi Reyno and Nora Reyno Smith (Darren). Grandchildren, Brandy, Richelle, Gordie, Evan, Cara, Kayla, Ben, Lindsay, Carly, Lee, Cole, Luke, Brooke, Hillary, Samantha, Bianca, Bella-Rose and Colton, and great grandchildren, Ainsley, Addison, Rylan and Hallie. Nettie was pre deceased by "the Boss" Gordon.
Nettie’s heart for children was huge, and as such would be thrilled with donations of condolence made to Phoenix House or a youth program of your choice. At this time the family chooses to cap our celebration of Nettie’s life with a private service. We deeply appreciate your thoughts and prayers.
