Obituary of Kenneth "Kenny" Reid

Reid, Kenneth "Kenny" Francis:  76, Halifax, NS.  It is with heavy hearts that we regret to announce the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Kenneth "Kenny" Francis Reid on Sunday, December 15, 2013.  Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Norman and Edna (Young) Reid.  He was employed at the HMCS Dockyard for 35 years.  Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Carol (Zinck), four children, Cathy Crotty, Lynn Reid (Dave), Debbie Reid (Eldon), and Kenneth, as well as his buddy, Chico.  He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a special sister-in-law, Sandie.   He was predeceased by two sisters, Norma and Carol.  The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the VON for all of the care and compassion shown to Ken.   Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, NS (477.5601).  A memorial service will be held at St. Timothy’s Anglican Church, Hatchet Lake, NS on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 11 am, with Rev. Lisa Vaughn as officiating clergy.  A reception will follow in the church hall.   Interment will be held at a later date.  Donations in memory of Ken may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Nova Scotia Division.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.walkerfh.com
