Obituary of Marion Clare Cook (Fraser)
Age 76, Lakeside. With profound sadness we announce her passing on Dec. 17, 2013 peacefully at home. Born in Halifax on Jan. 10, 1937, she was the youngest daughter of the late Harold and Kathryn (Gray) Fraser.
She was a graduate of Miss Murphy's Business College and went on to marry the love of her life who she spent 57 years with. Together they raised their family, traveled most of North America, and made friends wherever they went. A homemaker most of her life. Mom will be loving remembered for her devotion to her family, kind heart and generous spirit, her awesome cookies and baked goods.
Survived by daughters; Liz Scott (Charlie), Rosie Francis (Dave), both of Shad Bay; Cathy Smith (Greg), Amherst; sons, Kenny, Tantallon; Rick (Mary), Lakeside; Peter (Charlene), Halifax; nine grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren plus one on the way and one great great-grandchild. Mom is also survived by brother; Jack, Ontario. Mom was predeceased by her devoted husband of 57 years Ken; sisters, Helen; Anna; Joanie; Connie; brothers, Harold and Gerald.
Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601), 149 Herring Cove Rd. where a memorial service will be held on Saturday December 21 at 10 a.m., Father Duncan McMaster as celebrant. A family interment will be later in the day. Donations may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice. We wish to express our gratitude to Northwood Continuing Care for making Mom comfortable.
