Obituary of Rose Marie "Cookie" Zinck

ZINCK, ROSE MARIE (COOKIE) Age 67, of Terence Bay   It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Sister and Aunt.  Mom, passed away peacefully at home on December 22, 2013 surrounded by her loving family, after a 2 year battle with cancer.  Born in Halifax, on October 20, 1946.  She was the daughter of the late Gladys Cuvelier.  Predeceased by her husband Garfield Zinck (October 7, 1946 – November 20, 1986). Mom was an active member of the Terence Bay Ladies Auxiliary Fire Department for many years.  Mom enjoyed playing her T.V. bingo and spending time with her family.  Survived by her children; Tena (Kevin), Kathy (Brent), Garfield (Julie), and Glen, grandchildren Justin, Courtney, Jordan, Trinity and Trenten, whom she loved and adored dearly and kept Nanny busy. Mom, will be deeply missed by her 2 orange tabby cats Daisy and Rocky and also her goldfish Simon. Survived by her brothers, Gerald (Barbara) Cuvelier and Lou (Marg) Cuvelier; brother-in-law William (Bill) Quinn; sister-in-laws Nancy Zinck (Peter) and Izelda Smeltzer.  Aunt Cookie will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her sister Mary (Florence) Quinn, brother-in-laws; Garnel Zinck and Angus Smeltzer.  We would like to thank all who helped with Mom’s care and treatment over the last 2 years. Cremation has taken place, as per Mom’s wishes there will be no visitation.  Memorial service will be held at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601) on December 28, 2013 at 1:00 pm with reception to follow. Family flowers only.
