Obituary of Irving Clark

CLARK, Irving Alexander:  68, Halifax, died peacefully at home following a courageous battle with cancer on December 26, 2013.  Born in Shubenacadie, NS, on September 29, 1945, he was a son of the late Roy and Emma (Kellough) Clark.  Irving will be remembered for living life to the fullest.  He worked for Sunray Feed Mill, and then with the Capital Health Authority at the VG for 28 years, later at the Veterans Site for 11 years, from where he retired in 2011.  Throughout his life, he was a cub leader of 3rd Spryfield Division, a member of the Men’s Club, and was active with the special projects committee with St. Paul’s UnitedChurch.  He was also a member of the Enfield Hunting Club and Fairlanes Bowling League.  Irving loved driving, travelling, church suppers, and especially jamborees all over Nova Scotia.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and going on trips with his family.  He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jackie, his sons, Kevin (Yun), and David (Amanda), two grandchildren, Madison Clark-Evans and Joey Clark, as well as his brother, Vernon (Madeline), sister, Jean James (Ron), and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, a very special sister-in-law, Louise Clark, and a brother-in-law, Paul Saunders.  He was predeceased by brother, Alfred.   Cremation has taken place under the care of JA Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477.5601), where visitation will be held on Monday from  2-4 and 6-8 PM.  The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at 11 AM in St. Paul’s UnitedChurch, Old Sambro Road, Halifax.  A reception will follow in the church hall and all are welcome.  Interment will be at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Paul’s United Church, Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Canadian Cancer Society.  Words of comfort may be sent to the family by visiting www.walkerfh.com
