Obituary of Mary Teresa Fraser

FRASER, Mary- age 88, of Halifax, passed away peacefully at the palliative care unit of the Halifax Infirmary, VG site on December 27, 2013. Born in Halifax November 21, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Catherine (Roma) Murphy. In her early years she worked for Peoples Jewellers. After her marriage she devoted herself to caring for her family. She enjoyed cooking and baking which she generously shared with her family along with fellow residents and Continuing Care staff of Margaret Latter Manor. We will miss her fishcakes, date squares and pound cakes. Christmas Eve will never be the same without her delicious fish chowder. She loved to spend time with her grand and great grandchildren whom were often benefited by her frequent shopping trips to find "good deals". She was predeceased by her husband Angus and brothers John, Sam, Patrick and Willy. She is survived by her sister Irene (Collins); son Brent (Sharon); daughter Cathy (Chris Lavery); grandchildren Steven (Catherine), Scott, Jeff (Jacqueline), Natalie and great-grandchildren Austin, Anika and Xavier. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd.; 149 Herring Cove Rd.  A celebration of her life will be held Saturday January 18, 2014 at 10am at St Paul’s Parish in Herring Cove.
