Obituary of Clarice June Melvin

MELVIN, Clarice June – Age 87, Halifax, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2014 at Northwood Manor. Born June 7, 1926 in Sydney, NS, she was a daughter of the late Neil and Ardath (Kehoe) MacDonald. Clarice married the love of her life, the late Albert Melvin in Halifax in 1944. She was a long time member of the Margaret Rose Friendship Club and The Young At Heart Seniors Club. She leaves behind daughters, Lorraine (Peter) Sheehan, Embrun, ON and Judi Burns, Crysler, ON; son, Don Melvin, Halifax; grandchildren, Debbie (Mike) Charbonneau, Lisa (Stephane Rochon) and Robert Sheehan, Robert (Sophie) Burns and Don Burns, all of Ontario, and David Burns and Michael Melvin, of Halifax; great-grandchildren, Reilly, Megan, Skylar and Wesley; sisters, Lois (Ron) Gillis, Fredericton, NB, and Elizabeth "Sis", Oshawa, ON. She will be sadly missed by members of her family and friends including long time friends, Marg MacDonald, Hazel MacPhee and Ann Belanger.  She was predeceased by brothers, Gordon, George, Roy and Edward; sisters, Isabelle, Shirley and Ella Marie. A special thanks to Clarice’s niece, Paula Lawlor who was her friend and caregiver. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Clarice’s life and interment will take place at a later date.
