Obituary of Gerald A. Wheeler

Wheeler, Gerald Albert- 82, Halifax. It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Gerald on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late Albert & Bernice (Scott) Wheeler. Gerald was  a gentle soul and he was loved by all. He was a sports fanatic and an avid Toronto Maple Leaf fan. He worked for Irving Oil Commerical Equipment for over 40 years, as a salesman and courier driver. He will be lovingly missed and never forgotten by children, Julie Hanniman (Dan);  Darrell (Michelle);  Darlene Gilfoy, brother, Doug (Mona), sisters, Malley (Ralph Warner), Norma Wheeler and Karen Wheeler, two grandchildren, Mitchell and Brittany. He was predeceased by his wife, Gloria Wheeler and son in law, Barry Gilfoy. A special thank you  to all the staff at Melville Lodge for all their care and compassion  shown to Gerald. Cremation has taken place under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd., (477-5601), where a memorial service will be held in memory of Gerald on Friday February 14, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with a reception to follow.
