Obituary of Gertrud Charlotte Blei (Rodmann)

Halifax, passed away Tuesday March 25th, 2014. Gertrud was the daughter of the late Hermann and Minna (Luther) Rodmann of Germany, loving wife to Rolf  Blei (died 2002), caring mother to Burglind and Evelyn, son-in-law Rob, Oma to Thomas, Katie, Shaun, Emily and soon to be great Oma, sister and Aunt to relatives in Germany. After immigrating to Canada, Rolf and Gertrud had a happy life together. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601). In keeping with Gertrud’s wishes there will be no visitation and private family service and interment at a later date. Donations in Gertrud’s memory may be made to any charity of your choice. Special thanks to the Spryfield Medical Clinic, Dr Terence Higgins and staff and to the Shannex Aberdeen Hall staff. Also a special thank you to the emergency staff of QEII and finally the compassionate staff of Drummond Hall-Palliative Care Unit, 4th floor who made the last few days bearable with their care, understanding and professionalism. We are so grateful to all for being there for our Mother.
