Obituary of Kenneth Lawrence Twohig
Age 86 of Halifax, passed away in the QEII Health Sciences Centre on April 4, 2014. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Twohig.
He was proud to be a retired member of the Halifax Fire Department, a career he loved and provided leadership having achieved the rank of Captain.
Ken is survived by his son, Michael; sister, Irene; brothers, Basil and Robert and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife, of 58 years, Ann (Dixon); brothers, Francis, Arthur, Ronald, Raymond; sisters, Mary, Margaret and Lillian. Ken loved his family, helping others, summer camping in the Annapolis Valley, playing cribbage, and above all he valued friendship.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (477-5601), 149 Herring Cove Rd., Spryfield where visitation will take place on Friday, April 11 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 12 at 11 am, from the funeral home chapel, Rev. David Dellapinna officiating. Interment will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations would be welcomed by the ALS Society of Nova Scotia.
