Obituary of Karen Elizabeth Gower

61, Halifax, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 4, 2014 in the QEII Health Sciences Centre. Born in St. John’s, Newfoundland, she was a daughter of Ruth and the late Fred Knight. Karen worked at Arborstone Enhanced Care for 28 years, having retired almost two years ago. She was actively involved in the Spryfield Community Salvation Army Church. She was a kind and generous person who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter, Keely and stepson, Joseph; brother, Warren Knight; sister, June (Gordon) Somerton; sister in-law, Jean (Denny) Rice. Cremation has taken place and visitation will take place at the Spryfield Community Salvation Army Church on Wednesday, April 9 from 1-3 PM followed by a service at 3 PM. Donations in Karen’s memory may be made to Spryfield Community Salvation Army Church.
