Obituary of Anna Genora McGregor

Age 79, formally of Spryfield passed away suddenly on May 28, 2014 at the QEII Health Sciences Center. She was a daughter of the late George H. and Philomene (McPhee) Oakley. Always being the source of entertainment, Anna would sing and cook for many in her spare time after retiring from sears. Anna is survived by children Joanna (Robert) Harrison, Lower Sackville, Joseph Walter McGregor, New Ross, Linda, Nadine (Scott) Currie, Sherri McGregor (Gary Hawes) all of Halifax. She also leaves behind brother Kenneth (Leona) Oakley; sisters Ida Kline and Patricia Paul (Danny); grandsons Michael (Laurie), Jamie Harrison, Gary (Kelsey) Joey (Nickey); granddaughter Melanie Levy; great grandchildren Amanda, Dakota, Cameron, Dante, Travis, Jesse and Steven; sister in laws Delores Greeley and Mary Oakley; brother in law Kenneth (Freda) McGregor as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Anna was predeceased by husband Joseph Walter McGregor; daughter Denise; brothers Pius, Richard, Edwin, David, Stanley, Granville; sisters Leona, Cecilia and Jean. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. 149 Herring Cove Rd, Halifax (477-5601) where a visitation will take place Wednesday June 4 from 6-9 pm . A service of remembrance will be held in the funeral home chapel Thursday June 5 at 12pm. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery Lower Sackville. Reception to follow at 610 Washmill Lake Drive (ring apartment 714). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family.
