Obituary of Jessie Florence Barnes (Noseworthy)

Halifax, formerly of Prospect Bay, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2014, in Northwood Centre. Born in St. Jacques, N.L., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Beatrice (Mallay) Noseworthy. Jessie was a loving mother to many foster children through the years and, as well, earned her angel's wings for all the knitting she had done for new-borns in the Annapolis Valley Regional Hospital. She is survived by sons, Dwight (Denise), Prospect Bay; Jason (Angie), Torbrook; daughters, Janice, Banff, Alta.; Tracy Ackerson (Daniel), Bloomington; brothers, Edward Noseworthy (Lillian), Exeter Ont.; Lloyd Noseworthy (Vickie), Lower Sackville; grandchildren, Michael, Julie, Neil, Zachary, Dustin, Riley, Jessica and Jennifer; "special daughter" Jackie Irwin and several nieces and nephews. Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Neil. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, June 10. Funeral service will take place from St. Timothy’s Anglican Church, Hatchet Lake Wednesday, June 11 at 1 p.m., Rev. Lisa Vaughn officiating, reception to follow in church hall. Interment to take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lower Sackville at a later date. Family flowers only. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory may be made to Arthritis Society of Nova Scotia, Canadian Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Society of Nova Scotia. A special thanks and appreciation to the nursing staff of Clarmar Residential Care Facility and Northwood Care, Halifax, for their wonderful care and compassion given to Jessie during her stays.
