Obituary of Josepha Domitile "Josey" Goris (Petitpas)

Age 80, Halifax, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on June 16, 2014 in the V.G. Site QEII. Born on March 17, 1934 in St. Pierre et Miquelon, France, she was a daughter of the late Alphonse Eugene and Berthe Lucia (Urdanabia) Petitpas.  Josey was the youngest of ten children. She is survived by sister, Amelia Lucienne Rita Pardeon and all that mattered to her in all of her life, her five children, Danny (Debbie); Patsy; Linda; Martine (John); Gina (Steve); grandchildren, Marsha, Nadine, Robin, Donald, Amanda, Craig, Jason, Kiesha; great grandchildren, Keshauna, Charlee, Jahroy, Dani, Nataya, Jayme, Keondre, Keondra, Jayla, Kobe and Max. She was predeceased by her husband, Edouard Goris and granddaughter Candace Caprice Goris.  Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation for family and close friends will be held from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Thursday June 19. Funeral Mass to be held from St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Michael’s Ave, at 11 a.m. Friday June 20. Interment to take place in Gate Of Heaven Cemetery Lower Sackville. In leui of flowers, donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation. A special thank you to all the staff on 6B V.G. Site, who took such gentle care of her, her nurses in the dialysis unit as well, where she was known as cute little Josey Goris, with a special thank you to Cee Cee and Mary, Marsha who made sure our mother had all that she needed and took the time to listen to her always. Her personal care workers, Tracy and Cathy, she spoke of all of you with great fondness. To the Red Cross and the VON, whom for many years helped in the care of our MoM.
