Obituary of James H.E. "Jimmy" Drysdale

Age 53, Herring Cove, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 4, 2014, after a long battle with cancer. Born in Halifax, he was the son of Margaret Tremblay and the late James Drysdale. He had worked for the Halifax Regional Municipality as a field technician for 33 years.He was a avid marksman and enjoyed his motorcycle rides with his "Biker Brothers". Jimmy had been raised by his grandparents the late Florence May Drysdale and Archibald Bailey. He is survived by his wife Kathleen "Kathy" (McKenzie); step daughters Donna Gray (C.R. Naugle); Keary Gray, both of Halifax; sister Terri Vernon; step sisters, Shirley Kelsie and Ella Drysdale, all of Dartmouth; grandchildren Mya Gray, David Lee Gray, Quentin Dawson Nugent; numerous cousins in which he grew up with as brothers and sisters; numerous nieces and nephews; many loving aunts and uncles and Nadine Marriott who he considered as a daughter. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where a visitation will be from 11a.m. - 1p.m., Friday August 8, with a celebration of life at 1p.m. from the funeral home chapel, Rev Gordon Relf officiating. Reception to follow at the Spryfield Legion Sussex St. Interment to take place in Sandhill Cemetery Nine Mile River at a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the James and Edna Clayton Radiation Treatment Clinic of the QEII. A special thank you to the huge support team Jimmy had and for all you done for us during his illness.
