Obituary of Charles Milton Hartling
Hartling, Charles Milton - 85, Halifax, passed away on Monday, August 4, 2014 at the new Halifax Infirmary. Born in WineHarbour, GuysboroughCounty, he was a son of the late Clarence "Clyde" and Robina "Ruby" (Benight) Hartling. Throughout his career, Charlie had worked as a freight handler for the Halifax Waterfront back in the day lobsterman and trapper. He is survived by his step-sons, Robert "Bobby" King, Ontario and Lenard Graves, Ontario; step-daughter, Lorna Keeping (Gary), Alberta; grandchildren, Sheila (Brian), Patrick, Cory (Kim), Leah (Stephen), Jennifer, Chantelle, and Connor; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife in 2005, June Hartling; brothers, Roy, Gordon and Wilfred; sisters, Stella and Louise. Arrangements are under the care of J. A. Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax (477-5601), where a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at 11 AM from the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in WineHarbourCemetery. Flowers may be sent to Walker’s Funeral Home 149 Herring Cove Road, donations in memory of Charlie may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
