Obituary of Albert Gordon "Red" Isnor
Age 86, Halifax, with great sadness we announce the passing of a great husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather on August 11, 2014, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Halifax, he was a foster son of the late Perry and Nora Power.
He was an avid bingo player and camper. Also a long time member of the Spryfield Legion Br.152, as well as a retiree from the Halifax Shipyard. In his younger days he was a musician (drummer). He always had a good sense of humor, and a joke of the day.
Red is survived by wife Florence (Awalt); sons, Joseph (Janet); John; James (Charleen); Albert (Niecey); daughters, Marsha Slaunwhite (George); Patty (Allan), all of Halifax; grandchildren, George (Gina), Michael (April), Lisa (Andrew), Adam, Angel; great grandson Alex, and several foster siblings. He was predeceased by daughter-in-law Debbie Isnor.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd. (477-5601) 149 Herring Cove Rd., where visitation will be held on Wednesday August 13 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.. A celebration of life will be held on Friday August 15, at 2 p.m. from the funeral home chapel, Father Duncan McMaster as celebrant. Interment to take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery Lower Sackville. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the SPCA.
