Obituary of John Martin G. Munroe
The family of the late John Martin George Munroe, 65, regrets to announce the passing of their husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle on Sunday, September 14, 2014 at the Halifax Infirmary. He was born in Halifax on January 24, 1949 and was the son of the late Andrew and Isabell (MacNeil) Munroe.
John worked at Highland Market and MacFarland’s Rent-It in Halifax in his earlier years until he retired in the 1990’s due to ill health.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-nine years, the former Barbara Armsworthy, Halifax, daughter, Karen Boggs (Kevin), son, Andrew (Melodie Crawley), three grandchildren, Kaitlyn Boggs, and Tyler and Cierra Munroe, all of Halifax; also surviving are three sisters, Barbara (Jim McDonald), and Catherine Low, both of Halifax and Joan Alexander, Dartmouth. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Other than his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Anna Marie Dominix in 2012.
John has been cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at J. Albert Walker Funeral Home, 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm on Wednesday, September 17, 2014. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Diabetes Association.
