Obituary of Joseph Samuel LaPierre

Age 93, of Halifax, passed away February 16, 2015 with his loving wife of 68 years, Helen, by his side. He was the son of the late Samuel and Mary Lapierre. Joe is survived by his four children Judy, Keith (Brenda), Peter (Pat) and Nancy (Ian); eight beautiful grandchildren Adam (Ira), Heather (Cory), Judith, Kristian, Jan, Alex, Michael (Emily) and Jennifer (Byron) as well as six and a half precious great grandchildren. Joe loved gardening, especially growing dahlias. He won many awards for his dahlias which can be seen at the Halifax Public Gardens in late August. Most of all Joe loved his family. Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, Halifax. A funeral mass will be held at St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Herring Cove, on Saturday February 21 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow at the church hall.
