Obituary of Katherine P. "Kay" Keddy
87, Spryfield, passed away peacefully at home, sleeping beside her loving husband of 57 years on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. Born in Port Hood, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Amy Watts.
Kay was a 50 year member of the Topaz Rebekah Lodge. She enjoyed doing crafts and loved spending time with her family and friends, attending the Breakaway program and loved to return to her Port Hood roots. Mom’s passion in life was to share all she had with family and anyone in need. She lived and believed that it is better to give than to receive.She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Edward "Ted"; daughter, Amy (David); sons, Stephen (Arlene) and Craig (Valerie); 8 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Kay was predeceased by 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
The family would like to extend thanks to those who helped and supported Mom through the years; Dr. Wieder, Dr. Murphy, Northwood Home Care and VON. Also, thanks to neighbors, special friend, Pauline Yeadon and to Kathleen and Janet and to our miracle blessing, Anelfa.
Arrangements are under the care of J. Albert Walker Funeral Home (2005) Ltd., 149 Herring Cove Road, Halifax, where visitation will be held on Friday, April 10 from 5-8 PM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, at 4 PM from the funeral home chapel, followed by a reception. Interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kay’s memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation or to a charity of one’s choice.
